김의석 교수의 연구실은 신경과학과 첨단 기술 융합 분야에서 활발한 연구를 수행하고 있습니다. 주요 연구 방향은 체내에서 기계적 자극에 의한 가려움 감각을 조절하는 신경 회로 메커니즘을 규명하는 데 초점이 맞춰져 있으며, 이는 만성 가려움증의 원인 규명과 치료 전략 개발에 기여합니다. 동시에 고성능 컴퓨팅 아키텍처와 메모리 분산 기술, 특히 CXL 기반의 near-data 처리 기반 메모리 아키텍처 설계를 통해 데이터 집약적 애플리케이션의 성능과 에너지 효율성을 극대화하는 기술적 혁신도 함께 진행하고 있습니다. 이는 미래 지능형 시스템과 의료 신기술의 융합적 응용을 위한 기초를 마련하고 있습니다.
