The current study examined the mediating role of psychological capital and work–family enrichment in the relation between calling and life satisfaction. Moreover, the moderating role of boundary management strategy, the tactics individuals utilize to manage role boundaries, in the relation between calling and work–family enrichment was investigated. Cross-sectional survey data were collected from members of the South Korean navy ( N = 195). As hypothesized, people who have a calling obtained mor

SJR Q1Applied Physics Letters

We perform first-principles calculations on metal-HfO2 interfaces in the presence of oxygen vacancies. Pt, Al, Ti, and Ag are considered as electrodes. It is found that oxygen vacancies are strongly attracted to the interface with binding energies of up to several eVs. In addition, the vacancy affinity of interfaces is proportional to the work function of metals, which is understood by the transition level of the vacancy and metal-Hf bonding. Interfacial segregation of vacancies significantly af

SJR Q1Journal of Career Development

As term-time employment for college students has rapidly increased worldwide, the topic of multiple role engagement among employed students has attracted much research attention. Nevertheless, how paid employment might affect student outcomes remains unknown. With this in mind, we provide a critical synthesis of the school-work-life (SWL) interface literature that focuses on undergraduate students who engage in term-time employment because the SWL interface, when considered as a psychological ex

SJR Q1Information Technology and People

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore consumers’ understanding of autonomous driving by comparing perceptions of occasional drivers (ODs) and frequent drivers (FDs). Design/methodology/approach Data were gathered through semi-structured interviews with 41 drivers. Their responses were categorized into thematic categories or topics on the basis of content analysis, and the topics were structured based on the core-periphery model. Finally, the authors visualized the structure on a percep

The measures against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, such as lockdown, pose a major challenge to those who manage work and caregiving demands. Drawing on social cognitive theory, which emphasizes the critical role of self-referent thought and human agency in overcoming obstacles and striving toward goals, the present longitudinal study (prepandemic, during lockdown, and postlockdown) investigated work-family balance self-efficacy (WFBSE) and work-family balance (WFB) among working i

Child Outcomes Associated with Parent Work–Family Experiences
Eunae Cho, Lindsay M. Ciancetta

This chapter provides a critical synthesis of the literature on the relationship between parent work family experiences and child outcomes. The chapter begins by introducing a theory-driven conceptual model that organizes previous studies. Then it discusses research on the direct link between parent work family experiences and child outcomes, followed by a review of mediators and moderators of the process. It next notes limitations of the extant literature and concludes with promising directions

The effects of work–family experiences on health among older workers.
Eunae Cho, Tuo‐Yu Chen
SJR Q1Psychology and AgingOA

With the rapidly aging workforce worldwide, the need to retain healthy older workers is greater than ever. To promote health among older workers, a better understanding of the factors that contribute to their health is crucial. With this in mind, we investigated the impact of work-family conflict and work-family enrichment on older workers' health. Five waves of longitudinal data from the Health and Retirement Study were used. A total of 4,509 workers aged 55 years and older at baseline were inc
