김은갑 교수의 연구실은 제조 시스템의 최적 운영을 목표로 하며, 특히 다중 수요 유형(주문형·재고형)과 제한된 생산 능력, 고객 거부 비용을 고려한 스케줄링 문제를 중심으로 연구를 전개합니다. 마르코프 결정과정 기반의 동적 프로그래밍 및 휴리스틱 정책 설계를 통해 생산 배정, 수요 수용 여부 결정, 재고 배분 전략의 최적 구조를 분석합니다. 특히, 실시간 적용이 가능한 효율적 알고리즘 개발과 실제 운영에서의 성능 평가에 중점을 두고 있습니다. 이는 산업 현장에서의 실용성과 경영적 의사결정 지원에 기여합니다.
