연구실 소개
원은일 교수의 연구실은 고에너지 물리학 분야에서 주로 활동하며, 특히 B 중간자가 붕괴하는 과정을 정밀하게 측정하고, 타우 레프톤의 분포 및 분포율을 분석함으로써 표준모형의 예측과의 괴리 여부를 탐색합니다. 또한, 새로운 초입자인 Y(4260), Z(4430) 등과 같은 고에너지 영역에서의 공명 구조를 탐지하고, 이들의 질량, 너비, 분포율을 정밀하게 측정하는 데에 주력하고 있습니다. 연구는 주로 KEKB 싱크로트론에서 수행되며, 벨(Belle) 실험의 대량 데이터를 기반으로 한 고도의 분석 기법을 활용합니다.

15We study initial-state radiation events, e+ e- --> gammaISR pi+ pi- J/psi, with data collected with the BABAR detector. We observe an accumulation of events near 4.26 GeV/c2 in the invariant-mass spectrum of pi+ pi- J/psi. Fits to the mass spectrum indicate that a broad resonance with a mass of about 4.26 GeV/c2 is required to describe the observed structure. We report the observation of two narrow structures in the mass spectra of the π(±)Υ(nS) (n=1, 2, 3) and π(±)h(b)(mP) (m=1, 2) pairs that are produced in association with a single charged pion in Υ(5S) decays. The measured masses and widths of the two structures averaged over the five final states are M(1)=(10,607.2±2.0) MeV/c2, Γ(1)=(18.4±2.4) MeV, and M(2)=(10,652.2±1.5) MeV/c2, Γ(2)=(11.5±2.2) MeV. We study the decay B- --> J/psi K- pi+ pi- using 117 million BBbar events collected at the Y(4S) resonance with the BaBar detector at the PEP-II e+ e- asymmetric-energy storage ring. We measure the branching fractions Br(B- --> J/psi K- pi+ pi-) = (116 +- 7 (stat.) +- 9(syst.))* 10-5 and Br(B- --> X(3872)K-)* Br (X(3872) --> J/psi pi+ pi-) =(1.28+- 0.41)* 10-5 and find the mass of the X(3872) to be 3873.4 +- 1.4 MeV/c2. The Belle detector at the KEKB electron-positron collider has collected almost 1 billion Y(4S) events in its decade of operation. Super-KEKB, an upgrade of KEKB is under construction, to increase the luminosity by two orders of magnitude during a three-year shutdown, with an ultimate goal of 8E35 /cm^2 /s luminosity. We present a measurement of angular observables and a test of lepton flavor universality in the B→K^{*}ℓ^{+}ℓ^{-} decay, where ℓ is either e or μ.
