연구실 소개
설근희 교수의 연구실은 주로 허브 및 식물성 에센셜 오일의 생리적 효과에 초점을 맞추고 있으며, 특히 라임노렌, 1,8-시네올, 라인알룰 등 주요 성분이 신경질환, 통증, 스트레스 및 염증 반응에 미치는 영향을 기초 및 임상적으로 연구하고 있습니다. 산화 스트레스, 염증 반응 조절, 혈압 조절 등 생리적 기전을 중심으로 한 메커니즘 연구와 함께, 휘발성 화합물의 흡입을 통한 비약리적 치료 전략 개발에 기여하고 있습니다. 특히 캐리퍼 터널 증후군, 토탈 힙 리플레ACEMENT 수술 후 회복, 폐 손상 모델 등 다양한 임상 및 동물 모델을 활용한 다학제적 접근이 특징입니다.

BACKGROUND: Although Salvia sclarea (clary sage) is widely used in aromatherapy and has antioxidant and antimicrobial properties, its mechanisms of action remain poorly understood. We therefore assessed whether clary sage is effective in treating endothelial dysfunction induced by chronic immobilization stress in rats. METHODS: Rats were intraperitoneally injected with almond oil, clary sage oil (5%, 10% or 20%), or nifedipine once daily, followed by immobilization stress (2 h/day) for 14 days.
