ABSTRACT: CREAMS was applied to a field‐sized watershed planted to cotton in the Limestone Valley region of northern Alabama. The field was cultivated for three years with conventional tillage (CvT) followed by three years of conservation tillage (CsT). CREAMS is composed of three components: hydrology, erosion, and chemistry. We study the double auction problem with interdependent values. We establish a payoff equivalence result for this environment. We also introduce the generalized Vickrey double auction which is an efficient and ex-post incentive compatible mechanism for the interdependent values environment. This paper shows that the quality scores in sponsored search auctions can be optimally chosen to extract all the advertisers' surplus. The reason for the full extraction result is that the quality scores may effectively set all the bidders' valuations equal to the highest valuation, which induces intense bidding competition.

본 논문은 이동통신 도매제공 대가와 관련하여 비용기반(cost-plus) 대가책정방식과 소매가격기반(retail-minus) 대가책정방식의 경제적 효과를 비교․분석한다. 주요결과로는 (i)두 대가책정방식에서 공통적으로 도매대가가 증가하면 소매가격과 기업의 이윤이 증가하는 반면 소비자잉여는 감소하고, (ⅱ)사회후생의 경우 기존기업의 소매시장 생산비용이 신규진입기업의 소매시장 생산비용에 비해 클수록 소매가격기반 대가책정방식에서의 사회후생이 비용기반 대가책정방식에서의 사회후생보다 더 커지며, (ⅲ)소매가격기반 대가책정이 기존기업의 투자를 촉진하는 방식이라는 점 등이다. 이동통신시장의 서비스기반 경쟁 활성화를 위해서는 독자적인 브랜드 파워를 가진 기업들이 제품차별화 및 결합상품 제공 등을 통해 진입할 수 있는 환경을 조성하는 것이 필요하며, 이렇게 관련시장이 융합화(convergence) 현상으로 인해 변화하는 경우에는 비교적 신축적인 대가설정이 가능한 소매가격기반 대가책정방식을 진지하게

We characterize the optimal structure of prizes in contests, when the contest designer is interested in the maximization of either the expected total e¢çort or the expected highest e¢çort. The all-pay auction framework in the present paper makes it possible to derive all the results in Benny Moldovanu and Aner Sela's (2001, American Economic Review, 542-558) incomplete-information model of contests as well as other results in a particularly simple fashion.
