연구실 소개
홍기호 교수의 연구실은 감염병 진단 및 바이러스 역학을 중심으로, 특히 코로나19와 MERS와 같은 급성 호흡기 감염병의 분자진단, 바이러스 병원성 메커니즘, 그리고 진단 품질보증 체계 구축에 중점을 두고 있습니다. 실시간 역전사-PCR, 전장 유전자 시퀀싱, 그리고 NGS 기반 미생물군 분석을 활용해 감염병의 조기 진단과 재감염 가능성, 면역 반응 동태를 규명하고 있으며, 특히 진단 품질 확보를 위한 외부 평가 시스템 개발에도 기여하고 있습니다. 국내외 임상현장과의 협업을 통해 진단 기술의 정확성과 신뢰성을 제고하는 데 기여하고 있습니다.
