15An intense pulsed light (IPL) from a xenon flash lamp was used to sinter copper nanoink printed on low-temperature polymer substrates at room temperature in ambient condition. The IPL can sinter the copper nanoink without damaging the polymer substrates in extremely short time (2 ms). The microstructure of the sintered copper film was investigated using X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray micro tomography, and atomic force microscopy (AFM
Inkjet printing of electrode using copper nanoparticle ink is presented. Electrode was printed on a flexible glass epoxy composite substrate using drop on demand piezoelectric dispenser and was sintered at 200 °C of low temperature in N 2 gas condition. The printed electrodes were made with various widths and thickness. In order to control the thickness of the printed electrode, number of printing was varied. Resistivity of printed electrode was calculated from the cross-sectional area measured
Poly(amidoamine) dendrimers having various degrees of modification with the redox-active ferrocenyls were prepared by controlling the molar ratio of ferrocenecarboxaldehyde to amine groups of dendrimers. By alternate layer-by-layer depositions of partial ferrocenyl-tethered dendrimers (Fc-D) with periodate-oxidized glucose oxidase (GOx) on a Au surface, an electrochemically and enzymatically active multilayered assembly of enzyme was constructed. The resulting GOx/Fc-D multilayer-associated elec
A new approach to construct a multilayered enzyme film on the Au surface for use as a biosensing interface is described. The film was prepared by alternate layer-by-layer depositions of G4 poly(amidoamine) dendrimers and periodate-oxidized glucose oxidase (GOx). The cyclic voltammograms obtained from the Au electrodes modified with the GOx/dendrimer multilayers revealed that bioelectrocatalytic response is directly correlated to the number of deposited bilayers, that is, to the amount of active
In this study, the size effect of copper particles on the flash light sintering of copper (Cu) ink was investigated using Cu nanoparticles (20-50 nm diameter) and microparticles (2 μm diameter). Also, the mixed Cu nano-/micro-inks were fabricated, and the synergetic effects between the Cu nano-ink and micro-ink on flash light sintering were assessed. The ratio of nanoparticles to microparticles in Cu ink and the several flash light irradiation conditions (irradiation energy density, pulse number
In this work, copper nanowires (NWs) and Cu nanoparticles (NPs) were employed to increase the reliability of a printed electrode pattern under mechanical bending fatigue. The fabricated Cu NW/NP inks with different weight fractions of Cu NWs were printed on a polyimide substrate and flash light-sintered within a few milliseconds at room temperature under ambient conditions. Then, 1000 cycles of outer and inner bending fatigue tests were performed using a lab-made fatigue tester. The flash light-
In this work, a flash light sintering process using silver nano-inks is investigated. A silver nano-ink pattern was printed on a flexible PET (polyethylene terephthalate) substrate using a gravure-offset printing system. The printed silver nano-ink was sintered at room temperature and under ambient conditions using a flash of light from a xenon lamp using an in-house flash light sintering system. In order to monitor the light sintering process, a Wheatstone bridge electrical circuit was devised
