김희진 교수의 연구실은 노화와 관련된 뇌 질환, 특히 알츠하이머병과 뇌소혈관병의 병태생리적 기전을 영상유전학적 접근을 통해 규명하고 있습니다. 주요 연구 방향은 amyloid-β와 뇌소혈관질환(SVCI)이 인지기능 저하에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 특히 타우 단백질 축적을 중심으로 한 최종 공통 경로를 규명하는 데 초점이 맞춰져 있습니다. 또한, 유전적 위험 점수와 뇌 기능 네트워크의 변화를 연계하여 인지저하의 예측 가능성을 높이는 데 기여하고 있습니다.

15Our findings suggest that in SVCI, both Aβ and CSVD were independently associated with increased tau accumulation. Furthermore, tau burden played a pivotal role because it was the final common pathway for the cognitive impairment in patients with SVCI.
