연구실 소개
최희정 교수의 연구실은 면역학적 기전과 기생충 감염의 상호작용을 중심으로 한 전염병학 및 숙주-병원체 상호작용을 연구합니다. 특히 HIV-1 감염에서 IL-18이 IFN-γ를 통해 바이러스 억제 기전을 발휘하는 메커니즘과, 두창충(Diphyllobothrium latum)과 같은 기생충 감염의 임상 및 역학적 특성에 대한 분석을 수행하고 있습니다. 또한 해산물 생물의 면역 반응과 병원성 기생충의 상호작용을 유세세포 분석을 통해 규명하고 있습니다. 이와 더불어, 병원성 감염 예방을 위한 항생제 사용 전략의 최적화를 목표로 한 임상 연구도 진행 중입니다.

15Interleukin (IL)-18 is an interferon (IFN)-gamma-inducing factor and contributes to the Th1 immune response. Three were diagnosed based on spontaneously discharged strobila of the adult worm in their feces, and 1 case was diagnosed by finding the worm at colonoscopy examination in a local clinic. In order to assess changes in the activity of immunecompetency present in Crassostrea gigas infected with Marteilioides chungmuensis (Protozoa), the total hemocyte counts (THC), hemocyte populations, hemocyte viability, and phagocytosis rate were measured in oysters using flow cytometry.
