연구실 소개

김희남 교수의 연구실은 미생물군집과 숙주의 면역·대사 반응 간의 상호작용을 중심으로, 특히 장내 미생물군집의 기능적 이상이 알레르기성 피부염, 코로나19 중증도 등 만성질환에 미치는 영향을 분자생물학적·유전체학적 접근으로 규명하고 있습니다. 또한 병원성 박테리아의 기생적 진화 과정과 유전자 희귀화 메커니즘, 특히 *Burkholderia* 속 세균의 유전적 변형을 통해 병원성의 기원을 밝히는 데에도 주력하고 있습니다. 최근에는 장막 기능 이상과 면역 반응 이상이 감염성 질환의 중증도에 미치는 영향을 메타유전체 분석과 기능 검증을 통해 탐구하고 있습니다.
