연구실 소개
홍승재 교수의 연구실은 퇴행성 관절염과 류마티스성 관절염을 비롯한 염증성 질환의 분자 기전을 규명하고, 특히 혈관내피성장인자(VEGF), 마트리크스 아연미세단백질분해효소(MMPs), 갑상선호르몬 등과 같은 생체 활성 물질이 관절 조직에서 어떻게 작용하는지 연구합니다. 또한, 멜라토닌 수용체 유전자 다형성, 아디포넥틴, ACE 유전자 다형성 등 유전적 요소가 관절염 발병에 미치는 영향을 분석하며, 이를 바탕으로 새로운 진단 및 치료 전략 개발을 목표로 하고 있습니다. 특히 구강 미생물군과 전신 질환 간의 연관성 연구를 통해 구강 건강이 전신 건강에 미치는 영향을 탐색하고 있습니다.
