연구실 소개

송황준 교수의 연구실은 저비트레이트 영상 압축 및 스트리밍 기술에 중점을 두고 있으며, 특히 H.263+ 기반의 고효율 비디오 인코딩과 저지연 환경에서의 비트레이트 제어 기법을 핵심으로 연구하고 있습니다. 다양한 비트레이트 환경에서 인간의 시각적 품질을 극대화하기 위해 프레임 레이트 조절, 매크로블록 단위의 비트 분배, 그리고 R-D 최적화 기반의 하이브리드 인코딩 기법을 개발하고 있습니다. 또한 소프트웨어 정의 네트워크(SDN) 기반의 스마트한 HTTP 기반 스트리밍 시스템을 통해 네트워크 혼잡도를 고려한 동적 비디오 품질 제어 기술도 함께 연구하고 있습니다.

A novel rate control algorithm with a variable-encoding frame rate method is proposed for low-bit-rate video coding. Most existing rate control algorithms for low-bit-rate video focus on bit allocation at the macroblock level under a constant frame-rate assumption.
