Abstract We examine the value impact of independent directors nominated by activists (Activist IDs). Firms appointing Activist IDs experience larger value increases than firms appointing other directors, particularly when Activist IDs have private firm experience and when their nominators remain as shareholders. This value increase persists over a long period and is greater than that of activism events without director appointments. The increase is also higher among firms with greater monitoring

Directors at firms with well-connected CEOs are more likely to obtain directorships at firms that are connected to the CEOs. Recommended directors do not become beholden to the CEO. Reciprocity is an important determinant of recommendations because CEOs are more likely to recommend their directors if they received help from their network filling vacant board positions. 액션러닝은 실제 문제를 찾아 해결책을 찾는 과정을 통해 학습이 이루어지는 교수방법으로 최근 대학 수업에서도 그 사례 연구가 수행되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 서울에 위치한 S 대학교의 아동청소년학과에 개설된 ‘아동미디어교육’ 수업에서 액션러닝 교수법을 실시하고 그 효과성 여부를 조사하는 것이다. Marquardt(2000)가 제안한 액션러닝의 구성 요소들과 과정에 따라 학생들은 아동의 뉴스리터러시 교육이라는 과제를 도출하였으며 초등 6학년을 위한 뉴스리터러시 교육 목적과 목표, 내용을 설정하고 교수학습방법을 개발하여 교육현장에 적용하였다. 액션러닝 수업에 대한 대학생들의 반응과 평가는 설문지와 구두로 수집되었다. 그들은 액션러닝 적용 수업 방식을 통한 능동적이며 자발적인 문제 탐구와 현장에서의 적용이 아동미디어교육 수업 목표를 달성하는데 도움을 주었다고 답하였다. 마지막으로, 액션러닝 수업방식의 필요조건으로서 교육 현장과의 긴밀한 협조와 현장 적용 시 적절한 피드백의 중요성이 논의되

This study investigated various characteristics of private woodlots in southern Ontario and calculated their estimated economic value. More than 90% of southern Ontario forests are privately owned, which are small and fragmented. While many woodlots in the southwestern region are small parts of farmlands, the majority of owners in central and northern regions are non-farmers. We examine Bitcoin returns’ statistical properties and check whether these properties are consistent with the well-known stylized facts of asset returns for the period from January 2019 to May 2022. We find that Bitcoin exhibits price behaviors that correspond well to all the stylized facts of asset returns examined in the analyses. We analyze the influence of corporate governance on share repurchase policies in Korean listed firms from 2013 to 2021 and examine the features of share repurchases in the Korean market. Results reveal that firms with higher corporate governance ratings are more likely to pay dividends but less likely to engage in share repurchases than firms with lower governance ratings. 본 논문의 목적은 비평 담론을 통해 동시대 아카이브 미술의 유형을 구분하고, 그것의 예술적 가치를 규명하는 것이다. 아카이브 미술은 아카이브 자료를 활용하는 미술로, 근대적 아카이브에 대한 대항 담론으로서 등장했다. 연구자는 동시대 미술 실천의 한 방법으로 자리 잡은 아카이브 미술이 다양한 형태로 나타나고 있음을 발견하였고, 그것들이 각기 다른 예술적 가치를 지니고 있음을 규명하고자 했다. 연구는 문헌분석을 통해 이루어졌다. 본 연구자는 아카이브 미술에 주목해온 대표적인 이론가들의 담론을 연구하고, 이를 바탕으로 아카이브 미술 유형 분류 및 사례 분석을 시도했다. 첫째, 문화적 정체성을 탐구하는 아카이브 미술이다. 둘째, 대안 서사를 탐색하는 아카이브 미술이다. 셋째, 근대적 역사관을 해체하는 아카이브 미술이다. 이와 같은 연구를 통해 본 논문은 아카이브 미술 비평과 가치평가 문제에 있어서 유용한 기준을 제공하는데 기여한다.
