15Background Hepatocellular carcinomas (HCCs) are heterogeneous neoplasms, and the prognosis varies based on the subtype. Two broad molecular classes of HCC have been proposed: a proliferative and a nonproliferative class. Purpose To evaluate the gadoxetate-enhanced MRI findings of the proliferative class HCC and its prognostic significance after surgery. Materials and Methods This retrospective cohort study evaluated patients with surgically resected treatment-naive single HCC (≤5 cm) who underwe
OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical feasibility of fast 3-dimensional (3D) magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) using compressed sensing (CS) in comparison with conventional navigator-triggered 3D-MRCP. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This retrospective study was approved by our institutional review board, and the requirement of informed consent was waived. A total of 84 patients (male-to-female ratio, 41:43; mean age, 47.3 ± 18.8 years) who underwent conventional

The diagnostic performance of multidetector CT and MR imaging with MRCP for identifying the malignant potential of pancreatic IPMNs was similar and showed good intermodality agreement, suggesting that follow-up with either modality may be used.
Objective: To determine the feasibility of microvascular flow imaging (MVFI) in comparison with color/power Doppler imaging (CDI/PDI) for detection of intratumoral vascularity in suspected post-transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) residual or recurrent hepatocellular carcinomas (HCCs) by using contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) or hepatic angiography (HA) findings as the reference standard. Materials and Methods: One hundred HCCs (mean size, 2.2 cm) in 100 patients treated with TACE were
PURPOSE: To determine the added value of CEUS on arterial phase non-hyperenhancement (APNHE) observations (LR-3 and LR-4) of CT/MRI in high-risk patients. METHODS: Forty-three patients with APNHE observations (≥ 2 cm) from CT/MRI were prospectively enrolled in this IRB-approved study and underwent CEUS. All observations were assessed by LI-RADS for CT/MRI and CEUS. The hemodynamic findings were compared. The mean follow-up period was 11.8 ± 2.1 months. Reference standard was made on 34-APNHE obs
OBJECTIVES: To determine the clinical feasibility of abbreviated magnetic resonance image (MRI) using breath-hold 3-dimensional magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (3D-MRCP) (aMRI-BH) for pancreatic intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN) surveillance. MATERIALS AND METHODS: In this retrospective study, 123 patients with 158 pancreatic IPMNs (pathologically proven [n = 73] and typical image feature with ≥2-year stability [n = 85]) who underwent conventional MRI (cMRI) consisting o
Statistical models of shape and appearance have been successfully used in face modeling, tracking and synthesis. In this paper we describe experiments using appearance models for face verification. We compare a variety of different algorithms on a standard face database (XM2VTS). We demonstrate that simple methods of correction for head pose and face expression can significantly improve results.
SZUS was noninferior to SVUS for diagnosing HCC in at-risk patients using the same diagnostic criteria. No significant improvement in HCC diagnosis was observed by extending the washout time delay from 5 to 10 minutes.
The addition of CEUS to Gd-EOB-MRI as a second-line diagnostic modality increases the frequency of HCC diagnosis without changing the specificities.
OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical feasibility of gadoxetic acid-enhanced isotropic high-resolution (IHR) 3-dimensional (3D) T1-weighted (T1W) magnetic resonance cholangiography (MRC) using an iterative denoising (ID) algorithm for evaluation of the biliary anatomy of living liver donors in comparison with conventional 3D multislice T2-weighted (T2W) MRC. MATERIALS AND METHODS: In this institutional review board-approved retrospective study, a total of 75 living liver
PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to investigate the optimal washout criteria of perfluorobutane-enhanced ultrasonography (PFB-US) for the diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in high-risk individuals. METHODS: Participants at risk of HCC with treatment-naïve solid hepatic observations (≥1 cm) who underwent PFB-US from March 2019 to September 2020 were prospectively recruited. Arterial phase hyperenhancement (APHE), washout time, and washout degree were evaluated. The diagnosis of HCC wa
