김일현 교수의 연구실은 핵재료의 내구성 향상을 위한 첨단 표면처리 기술과 신소재 개발에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 3D 프린팅을 활용한 FeCrAl 코ating 기술로 Zr-합금의 고온 산화 및 부식 저항성을 극대화하는 데 성과를 내고 있으며, 동시에 의료 분야에서의 응용 연구도 병행하고 있습니다. 신체의 통증과 관절 질환에 대한 약리적 효과 평가 및 수술 후 회복 과정에서의 운동 요법의 영향 분석을 통해 의공학적 접근도 시도하고 있습니다. 이처럼 재료공학과 의공학의 융합적 연구가 핵심입니다.

15Zr-alloys are used as nuclear fuel cladding tubes in nuclear reactors. Recently, surface coating of conventional Zr-alloy tubes has been performed to enhance their resistance to corrosion and high-temperature oxidation.
