연구실 소개
박인호 교수의 연구실은 환자에서 분리된 흉부결핵균의 유전적 변이와 병원성 기전을 규명하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있으며, 특히 폐렴균의 캡슐 다형성과 그 유전적 기반을 밝혀내는 데 핵심적인 기여를 해왔다. 항체 기반의 항원 서브타입 분류, 유전자 조합 분석, 그리고 다수의 캡슐 유전자군 분석을 통해 6A, 6B, 6C 등 다양한 혈청형의 기초 기전을 규명하였고, 이는 백신 개발 및 진단 기술 향상에 기여하고 있다. 또한, 비캡슐레이트 폐렴균의 분자적 기반과 면역 회피 메커니즘에 대한 연구를 통해 병원성 미생물의 진화적 다양성과 임상적 의미를 탐구하고 있다.
