연구실 소개

이 교수의 연구실은 3D 모델링과 애니메이션 기술을 바탕으로 인간의 움직임과 얼굴 표현을 정교하게 재현하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 포인트 클라우드에서 파이프나 캐날 표면을 복원하는 기술, 모션 캡처 데이터를 활용한 캐리커처 스타일 애니메이션 생성, 그리고 비디오 기반 얼굴의 2D 과장 기법 등 시각적 표현의 정교함을 높이는 기술을 개발하고 있습니다. 이는 가상 캐릭터 제작, 애니메이션 산업, 가상현실 등 다양한 분야에 응용 가능합니다.

Shrinking: another method for surface reconstruction

We present a method to reconstruct a pipe or a canal surface from a point cloud (a set of unorganized points). A pipe surface is defined by a spine curve and a constant radius of a swept sphere, while a variable radius may be used to define a canal surface. In this paper, by using the shrinking and moving least-squares methods, we reduce a point cloud to a thin curve-like point set which will be approximated to the spine curve of a pipe or canal surface. Exaggerating Character Motions Using Sub‐Joint Hierarchy

Abstract Motion capture cannot generate cartoon‐style animation directly. We emulate the rubber‐like exaggerations common in traditional character animation as a means of converting motion capture data into cartoon‐like movement. We achieve this using trajectory‐based motion exaggeration while allowing the violation of link‐length constraints. We extend this technique to obtain smooth, rubber‐like motion by dividing the original links into shorter sub‐links and computing the positions of joints
