SJR Q1Neurosurgery

BACKGROUND: Up-to-date, quantitative angiographic measurement of revascularization extent after bypass surgery has not been reported. OBJECTIVE: To measure the extent of angiographic revascularization quantitatively 6 months postoperatively with the OSIRIS program (University Hospital of Geneva, version 3.1). METHODS: A total of 75 bypass procedures were performed in 65 consecutive adult moyamoya disease patients, and 71 bypass surgeries in 61 adult moyamoya disease patients were studied 6 month

SJR Q1SensorsOA

With the development of 3D displays, user's eye fatigue has been an important issue when viewing these displays. There have been previous studies conducted on eye fatigue related to 3D display use, however, most of these have employed a limited number of modalities for measurements, such as electroencephalograms (EEGs), biomedical signals, and eye responses. In this paper, we propose a new assessment of eye fatigue related to 3D display use based on multimodal measurements. compared to previous

New computer interface combining gaze tracking and brainwave measurements

SJR Q1IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics

We present a new computer interface that combines gaze tracking with brainwave measurements in an integrated head-mounted device. This interface is novel in the following four ways compared to previous works. First, because the system is designed as a single head-mounted device, both the brainwave data and eye images for gaze tracking can be acquired by wearing only one device that includes a sensing node and an eye image-capturing camera. Second, the noise in the brainwave data caused by blinki

Noise Reduction in Brainwaves by Using Both EEG Signals and Frontal Viewing Camera Images
Jae Seung Bang, JongSuk Choi, Kang Park
SJR Q1SensorsOA

Electroencephalogram (EEG)-based brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) have been used in various applications, including human-computer interfaces, diagnosis of brain diseases, and measurement of cognitive status. However, EEG signals can be contaminated with noise caused by user's head movements. Therefore, we propose a new method that combines an EEG acquisition device and a frontal viewing camera to isolate and exclude the sections of EEG data containing these noises. This method is novel in the f

SJR Q1Journal of NeuroInterventional Surgery

BACKGROUND: The long-term outcomes of endovascular coiling and surgical clipping for the treatment of unruptured intracranial aneurysms are unclear. METHODS: We performed a nationwide retrospective cohort study using claims data from the Korean Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service on patients undergoing surgical clipping or endovascular coiling from 2008 to 2014. Inverse probability treatment weighting for average treatment effect on the treated and the multiple imputation method were

BACKGROUND: The availability of stents has widened the indications of endovascular intervention for cerebral aneurysms. OBJECTIVE: To elucidate the effect of stents on radiologic outcomes and to analyze the risk factors for aneurysmal recanalization via propensity score matching. METHODS: From the 735 aneurysms treated with coil embolization with stents (n = 187) and without stents (n = 548) between 2009 and 2011, 157 propensity score-matched case pairs were selected. The recanalization rates an

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Stents have been reported as an option for improvement of the recanalization rate in AIS. The authors have also used intracranial stents in failed cases of IAT with pharmacologic and mechanical methods since 2004. We retrospectively reviewed our cases of intracranial stent use for IAT of AIS for recanalization and as a rescue procedure for iatrogenic intracranial vascular dissection during IAT. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Thirty-two patients, who were diagnosed with AIS, were

This study aimed to demonstrate the effectiveness of urgent extracranial-to-intracranial bypass (EIB) in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) through quantitative analysis of computed tomography perfusion (CTP) results using RAPID software. We retrospectively analyzed 41 patients who underwent urgent EIB for AIS under strict operation criteria. The quantitative data from CTP images were reconstructed to analyze changes in pre- and postoperative perfusion status in terms of objective numerical values usin

SJR Q1SensorsOA

With the rapid increase of 3-dimensional (3D) content, considerable research related to the 3D human factor has been undertaken for quantitatively evaluating visual discomfort, including eye fatigue and dizziness, caused by viewing 3D content. Various modalities such as electroencephalograms (EEGs), biomedical signals, and eye responses have been investigated. However, the majority of the previous research has analyzed each modality separately to measure user eye fatigue. This cannot guarantee t
