15Implantable drug release platforms that offer wirelessly programmable control over pharmacokinetics have potential in advanced treatment protocols for hormone imbalances, malignant cancers, diabetic conditions, and others. We present a system with this type of functionality in which the constituent materials undergo complete bioresorption to eliminate device load from the patient after completing the final stage of the release process. Here, bioresorbable polyanhydride reservoirs store drugs in
Soft microfluidic systems that capture, store, and perform biomarker analysis of microliter volumes of sweat, in situ, as it emerges from the surface of the skin, represent an emerging class of wearable technology with powerful capabilities that complement those of traditional biophysical sensing devices. Recent work establishes applications in the real-time characterization of sweat dynamics and sweat chemistry in the context of sports performance and healthcare diagnostics. This paper presents
Abstract Biodegradable or eco‐degradable electronics is an emerging field of technology capable of reducing the excessively increasing electronic waste originating from the rapid development of personalized and bio‐integrated devices and skin adhesive patches. Through an advantageous solution process, biodegradable conductive pastes can be employed in various applications of soft and flexible devices. Herein a biodegradable conductive paste composed of molybdenum (Mo) microparticles and polybuty
Abstract Electroceuticals provide promising opportunities for peripheral nerve regeneration, in terms of modulating the extensive endogenous tissue repair mechanisms between neural cell body, axons and target muscles. However, great challenges remain to deliver effective and controllable electroceuticals via bioelectronic implantable device. In this review, the modern fabrication methods of bioelectronic conduit for bridging critical nerve gaps after nerve injury are summarized, with regard to c
Peripheral nerve injuries cause various disabilities related to loss of motor and sensory functions. The treatment of these injuries typically requires surgical operations for improving functional recovery of the nerve. However, capabilities for continuous nerve monitoring remain a challenge. Herein, a battery-free, wireless, cuff-type, implantable, multimodal physical sensing platform for continuous in vivo monitoring of temperature and strain from the injured nerve is introduced. The thin, sof
Recent advancements in wearable sweat sensors, which use standardized electrochemical and colorimetric mechanisms, offer holistic representation of health status for users. However, the constraints of standardized sweat sensors present ongoing challenges to realization of personalized health management. This study presents an electrocolorimetric (EC) platform that enables the reversible and multiple-time use of colorimetric data visualization using electrophoretic display (EPD). This platform re
Copper nanowires (Cu NWs) are promising materials for transparent electrode applications. However, their growth mechanism during water-based synthesis remains unclear. The steric hindrance of a surfactant, which has been considered in previous studies, is insufficient to explain the suppression of Cu oxide formation during water-based synthesis. In this paper, we suggest that ethylenediamine (EDA, C 2 H 4 (NH 2 ) 2 ), which is commonly used as a structure-directing agent (SDA), may play an impor
In anion exchange membrane fuel cells (AEMFCs) for green energy, silver (Ag)-based compounds are promising non-Pt electrocatalysts with high catalytic activity and a low cost for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). Although silver chloride (AgCl) shows high catalytic activity due to the ligand effect originating from the electronegativity difference between the two elements, its low electroconductivity remains a significant issue. Here, we report Ag-AgCl core–shell nanowires decorated with AgCl
Bioresorbable implantable medical devices can be employed in versatile clinical scenarios that burden patients with complications and surgical removal of conventional devices. However, a shortage of suitable electricalinterconnection materials limits the development of bioresorbable electronic systems. Therefore, this study highlights a highly conductive, naturally resorbable paste exhibiting enhanced electrical conductivity and mechanical stability that can solve the existing problems of biores
Treating peripheral nerve injury (PNI) is a prevalent clinical challenge. The improper dispersion of regenerating axons makes it difficult to develop nerve guidance conduits (NGCs) for treating PNI. The multichannel NGCs, designed to mimic the fascicular structure of nerves, are proposed as an alternative to single hollow lumen NGCs. Hydrogel-based NGCs with microscale multichannels resembling actual nerve fascicles are fabricated using digital light processing as 3D printing. Gelatin methacrylo
Abstract Transparent conducting electrodes (TCE) using metal (Cu and Ag) nanowires (NWs) have received great attention, due to their high conductivity, flexibility, and transparency, as alternatives for conventional conductive oxides. Hybridizing with semiconductor, the metal NWs TCE allows for transparent, flexible but high‐performance functional devices such as logical circuit and active device components. However, the electrical performance of hybrid metal NWs/organic semiconductor is still l
