연구실 소개
조정환 교수의 연구실은 대사질환과 만성질환의 조기 진단 및 예방을 중심으로, 복부 비만, 인슐린 저항성, 갑상선 기능 이상 등 대사 상태와 신체 구성 간의 상호관계를 체계적으로 분석하고 있습니다. 특히 혈액 검사 지표인 HbA1c와의 괴리도인 HGI, 복부 권태비율(WC) 등 생체지표를 기반으로 심혈관 질환의 위험도를 정량적으로 평가하는 연구를 지속하고 있으며, 글루코코르티코이드 유도 고혈당과 같은 약물 유도 대사 이상의 메커니즘과 관리 전략에 대해서도 핵심적인 연구를 수행하고 있습니다. 전국 규모의 건강검진 데이터를 기반으로 한 대규모 후향적 연구를 통해 임상적 실용성을 갖춘 연구 성과를 도출하고 있습니다.

Altogether, these results support the proposal that PPARγ agonists not only suppress insulin resistance, but also prevent β-cell impairment via protection against ER stress and inflammation.
