Artificial intelligence for breast cancer screening in mammography (AI-STREAM): preliminary analysis of a prospective multicenter cohort study

SJR Q1Nature CommunicationsOA

Artificial intelligence (AI) improves the accuracy of mammography screening, but prospective evidence, particularly in a single-read setting, remains limited. This study compares the diagnostic accuracy of breast radiologists with and without AI-based computer-aided detection (AI-CAD) for screening mammograms in a real-world, single-read setting. A prospective multicenter cohort study is conducted within South Korea’s national breast cancer screening program for women. The primary outcomes are s

Estimation of T2* Relaxation Time of Breast Cancer: Correlation with Clinical, Imaging and Pathological Features
Mirinae Seo, Jung Kyu Ryu, Geon‐Ho Jahng, Yu‐Mee Sohn, Sun Jung Rhee, Jang-Hoon Oh, Kyu-Yeoun Won
SJR Q1Korean Journal of RadiologyOA

The T2* value is significantly longer in invasive cancer than in DCIS. In invasive cancers, T2* relaxation time is significantly longer in higher histologic grades and high signal intensity on T2WI. Based on these preliminary data, quantitative T2* mapping has the potential to be useful in the characterization of breast cancer.

Prenatal Sonographic Diagnosis of Focal Musculoskeletal Anomalies
Jung Kyu Ryu, Jeong Yeon Cho, Jong Sun Choi
SJR Q1Korean Journal of RadiologyOA

Focal musculoskeletal anomalies vary, and can manifest as part of a syndrome or be accompanied by numerous other conditions such as genetic disorders, karyotype abnormalities, central nervous system anomalies and other skeletal anomalies. Isolated focal musculoskeletal anomaly does, however, also occur; its early prenatal diagnosis is important in deciding prenatal care, and also helps in counseling parents about the postnatal effects of numerous possible associated anomalies. We have encountere

Sonographic Appearances of Small Organizing Hematomas and Thrombi Mimicking Superficial Soft Tissue Tumors
Jung Kyu Ryu, Wook Jin, Gou Young Kim
SJR Q2Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine

We retrospectively reviewed 2 cases of organizing hematomas and 2 cases of intravascular organizing thrombi and investigated correlations between sonographic and pathologic findings. In all 4 cases, a well-defined hypoechoic heterogeneous mass with surrounding increased echogenicity was evident in the subcutaneous fat layer. Organizing hematomas and thrombi have sonographic features similar to those of benign-looking soft tissue tumors. These lesions should therefore be considered in the differe

SJR Q1Journal of Applied Clinical Medical PhysicsOA

The purpose of this study was to compare the characteristics of quantitative per-fusion parameters obtained from dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in patients with mammographically occult (MO) breast cancers and those with mammographically visible (MV) breast cancers. Quantitative parameters (AUC, Ktrans, kep, ve, vp, and wi) from 13 MO breast cancers and 16 MV breast cancers were mapped after the DCE-MRI data were acquired. Various prog-nostic factors, including a

Estimation of T2*Relaxation Times for the Glandular Tissue and Fat of Breast at 3T MRI System

Journal of the Korean Society of Magnetic Resonance in MedicineOA

Quantitative measurement of relaxation parameters in MRI refers to MR relaxometry which implies the measurement of biophysical parameters through decoupling the different contrast mechanisms contributing to the overall MR signal. MR relaxation mapping is important to evaluate the tissue structure and function. Among the quantitative MRI parameters reflecting the local tissue environment, the relaxation times T1, T2, and T2* are the fundamental components (1, 2). The longitudinal (or spin-lattice
