15This review summarizes the synthesis of conductive polymers with different chemical structures in various ways and also addresses their widespread recent development for energy storage system applications.
Well-constructed porous materials take an essential role in a wide range of applications, including energy conversion and storage systems, electrocatalysis, photocatalysis, and sensing. Although the tailored design of various nanoarchitectures has made substantial progress, simpler preparation methods are compelled to meet large-scale production requirements. Recently, advanced electrochemical deposition techniques have had a significant impact in terms of precise control upon the nanoporous arc
Nanoarchitectured nanoporous carbon/conducting polymer core–shell nanocomposites (carbon–PANI) are prepared from metal–organic framework-derived carbon and the controlled polymerization of polyaniline nanorods.
Abstract With the ever‐growing environmental issues, sulfate radical (SO 4 •− )‐based advanced oxidation processes (SR‐AOPs) have been attracting widespread attention due to their high selectivity and oxidative potential in water purification. Among various methods generating SO 4 •− , employing heterogeneous catalysts for activation of peroxymonosulfate or persulfate has been demonstrated as an effective strategy. Therefore, the future advances of SR‐AOPs depend on the development of adequate c
The recent development and perspectives of energy harvesting and storage devices including integration strategies are summarized and discussed.
The development of various flexible and stretchable materials has attracted interest for promising applications in biomedical engineering and electronics industries. This interest in wearable electronics, stretchable circuits, and flexible displays has created a demand for stable, easily manufactured, and cheap materials. However, the construction of flexible and elastic electronics, on which commercial electronic components can be mounted through simple and cost-effective processing, remains ch
Importance of monomer symmetry, planarity, and nitrogen content in the crystallinity, surface area, and CO2 uptake has been studied for two series of 2D-COFs.
Abstract Here, an interesting, new 0D material is presented: graphene quantum dots. The new properties arising from quantum confinement and edge effects after converting 2D graphene into graphene quantum dots have attracted great interest in various disciplines, such as physics, biology, materials, and chemistry. Here, the recent technological advances in the field of graphene quantum dots reported in the literature on both a theoretical and an experimental basis are highlighted. Various synthes
Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are a family of crystalline porous networks having applications in various fields, including gas and energy storage. Despite respectable progress in the synthesis of such crystalline materials, examples of the use of template-free methods to construct COFs having hollow nano- and microstructures are rare. Furthermore, all reported methods for synthesizing these hollow structural COFs have involved [4 + 2] and [3 + 2] condensations. Herein, we report the synthes
A solid-state polymerizable conductive monomer with good conductivity and penetration to the photoelectrode is introduced to iodine-free, solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) using an easily accessible and widely applicable fabrication method. A conducting polymer as a hole transporting material effectively penetrates into the TiO2 pores and polymerizes with heating to mild temperatures. The fabricated DSSCs exhibited the highest energy conversion efficiency of 5.4% in N719 dye. Detail
Metal-organic framework (MOF)-derived nanoporous carbon materials have attracted significant interest due to their advantages of controllable porosity, good thermal/chemical stability, high electrical conductivity, catalytic activity, easy modification with other elements and materials, etc. Thus, MOF-derived carbons have been used in numerous applications, such as environmental remediations, energy storage systems (i.e. batteries, supercapacitors), and catalysts. To date, many strategies have b
Lithium–air battery (LAB) technology is currently being considered as a future technology for resolving energy and environmental issues. Here, we introduce recent advances and the remaining technical challenges in the development of LABs, particularly focusing on the cathodes based on a fundamental understanding of Li–O2electrochemistry.
