서정화 교수의 연구실은 마취의학 및 수술 환경에서의 안전성과 회복 속도 향상을 목표로 하며, 주로 전신마취 시 사용되는 약물(예: 레미마졸람, 프로포폴)의 약리적 특성과 회복 프로파일을 비교 분석합니다. 특히 마취 후 의식 회복 속도, 통증 관리 전략(예: 철저한 에피드루럴 진통), 기도 관리 기술(예: 이중루 기관내 배관의 정확한 삽입) 등 임상적 실무에 기여할 수 있는 연구를 지속적으로 수행하고 있습니다. 최근에는 해양선박의 항력 및 항력 성능 분석을 위한 수치유체역학 기반 시뮬레이션 기법을 활용한 다학제적 연구도 전개하고 있습니다.
