연구실 소개

양지현 교수의 연구실은 만성 신장질환과 급성 신손상에서 장내 미생물군 및 장벽 기능 이상이 유발하는 체내 염증 반응과 조직 섬유화의 역할을 중심으로 연구하고 있습니다. 특히 장-신장 축의 면역 및 대사 조절 메커니즘, 프로바이오틱스나 생체모방 펩타이드를 통한 신장 보호 전략 개발에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 또한 골다골로시스, 대사증후군과 관련된 지방호르몬의 뼈 대사 영향 등 대사성 뼈질환의 면역·대사 조절 메커니즘에 대해서도 탐구하고 있습니다.

Our results suggest that intestinal dysbiosis-associated gut barrier disruption and aberrant mucosal immunity are important for the systemic inflammation and progressive fibrosis of CKD. Targeting the intestine might provide novel therapeutic opportunities for CKD.

Prior supplementation with BGN4 significantly attenuated the severity of IRI and secondary liver injury. This renoprotective effect was associated with increased Foxp3 and reduced IL-17A expression in the colon, MNL, and kidney, suggesting that BGN4-induced immunomodulation might contribute to its renoprotective effects. Probiotics may therefore be a promising strategy to reduce AKI severity and/or remote organ injury.
