연구실 소개

김진수 교수의 연구실은 천연가스, 정유소 가스 등에서 유해한 산성가스인 황화수소(H2S)와 이산화탄소를 효과적으로 제거하는 신소재 및 공정 기술 개발에 주력하고 있습니다. 특히 휘발성 폭기 및 고체 흡착제를 활용한 탈황 기술, 막 반응기 기반 H2S 분해 공정, 그리고 허브리드형 막 컨택터를 활용한 고효율 탈황 공정에 대한 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 또한 응용 분야로는 도시 하수처리장의 암모니아 질소 제거 기술 개발도 함께 수행하고 있습니다. 이러한 연구들은 환경 보호와 청정 에너지 기술의 실현을 위한 핵심 기반 기술로 평가되고 있습니다.

Natural gas, refinery gas, and coal gas contain acid gases such as hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and carbon dioxide that must be removed from the gas stream due to the toxicity of H2S and to prevent corrosion to piping and production facility caused by the acid gases. In this article, current technologies for the acid gas removal are selected and reviewed. The review includes absorption, adsorption, conversion of H2S into elemental sulfur, and membrane reactor for H2S decomposition and desulfurization.

Removal of ammonia from wastewater effluent by chlorella vulgaris

The capability of Chiarella vulgaristo remove nitrogen in the form of ammonia and/or ammonium ions from wastewater effluent in a local wastewater treatment plant (i.e., the Mill Creek Plant in Cincinnati, Ohio, U.S.A.) was studied.
