연구실 소개

김진국 교수의 연구실은 유전적 질환의 정밀 진단과 맞춤형 치료제 개발을 핵심으로 삼고 있습니다. 특히 스플라이스 조절 항체단핵산(ASO) 기반의 'N-of-1' 치료 전략을 통해 희귀 신경퇴행성 질환 환자에게 맞춤 약물(milasen)을 개발한 바 있으며, 이는 유전적 변이를 기반으로 한 정밀의료의 새로운 모델을 제시합니다. 또한 냉각수 시스템 최적화, 혼합 냉매 사이클 설계, 탄소 포집 공정의 초구조 최적화 등 에너지 효율성과 환경 공학 분야의 혁신적 설계 기법을 동시에 개발하고 있습니다. 이처럼 의료와 공정 공학의 융합적 접근을 통해 실질적인 환자 치료와 산업적 지속가능성을 동시에 추구하고 있습니다.

Genome sequencing is often pivotal in the diagnosis of rare diseases, but many of these conditions lack specific treatments.
