연구실 소개

허종기 교수의 연구실은 구강악안면영상의학과 분야에서 딥러닝 기반의 정밀 진단 기술 개발에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 치열 임플랜트 시스템의 자동 진단, 턱관절 디스크 손상의 영상학적 예측, 턱관절 장애와 유사한 병변의 정확한 진단 등 임상적 정밀도를 높이기 위한 AI 기반 영상 분석 기술을 연구하고 있습니다. 또한, 턱관절의 해부학적 변화와 생체역학적 특성에 대한 3차원 영상 분석을 통해 수술 후 변화를 정량적으로 평가하는 데에도 기여하고 있습니다.

Misdiagnosis of florid cemento-osseous dysplasia leading to unnecessary root canal treatment: a case report

This case report demonstrates an unnecessary endodontic treatment of teeth with florid cemento-osseous dysplasia (FCOD) due to a misdiagnosis as periapical pathosis and emphasizes the importance of correct diagnosis to avoid unnecessary treatment. A 30-year-old woman was referred to our institution for apicoectomies of the mandibular left canine and both the lateral incisors. The periapical lesions associated with these teeth had failed to resolve after root canal treatment over a 3-year period.
