연구실 소개

김종훈 교수의 연구실은 암 치료의 정밀성과 효과를 높이기 위해 표적화된 약물 전달 및 자가 모니터링 기능을 갖춘 신약 개발에 주력하고 있습니다. 특히 생체 내에서만 활성화되는 프로약제를 설계하여 암세포에 특이적으로 약물을 전달하고, 동시에 치료 반응을 실시간으로 관찰할 수 있는 '테라노스틱(theranostic)' 전략을 핵심으로 삼고 있습니다. 미토콘드리아나 세포 내 소기관을 정밀하게 공격하는 나노입자나, 산소 부족을 유도하는 광열 치료 기술을 접목한 혁신적 접근도 지속적으로 연구하고 있습니다.

Mitochondria are organelles that are readily susceptible to temperature elevation. We selectively delivered a coumarin-based fluorescent iron oxide nanoparticle, Mito-CIO, to the mitochondria. UNLABELLED: The development of targeted and effective theranostic (therapeutic and diagnostic) chemotherapeutic agents is highly desirable for precise diagnosis and treatment of cancer. To realize this goal, we developed a cancer-targeting and enzyme-triggered theranostic prodrug 1, containing 7-ethyl-10-hydroxycamptothecin (SN-38), a well-known anticancer drug, which inhibits topoisomerase I in the cell nucleus; hydroquinone as an enzyme-triggered moiety; and biotin as a cancer targeting unit.
