연구실 소개

신주영 교수의 연구실은 망막 혈관병변과 연관된 질환, 특히 당뇨망막병변과 노령성 화도맥락화도의 병태생리학적 기전을 규명하고자 한다. 특히 혈액-망막 장벽의 기능 저하와 VEGF 발현, 밀도 높은 단백질(occludin, claudin-5, ZO-1)의 변화를 중심으로 치료적 타겟을 모색하며, 천연 폴리페놀인 클로로제닉산의 보호 작용에 대한 기전 연구도 진행 중이다. 또한 레이저 치료나 항혈관내피성장인자 치료 등 최신 치료법의 임상적 효과와 안정성에 대한 한국 환자를 대상으로 한 다기관 연구를 지속적으로 수행하고 있다.

Primary chemotherapy combined with local therapy can be effective and safe in the treatment of retinoblastomas otherwise untreatable with other therapeutic methods, such as group D and E retinoblastomas.
