15Path planning for robot arms to reach a target and avoid obstacles has had a crucial role in manufacturing automation. Although many path planning algorithms, including RRT, APF, PRM, and RL-based, have been presented, they have many problems: a time-consuming process, high computational costs, slowness, non-optimal paths, irregular paths, failure to find a path, and complexity. Scholars have tried to address some of these issues. However, those methods still suffer from slowness and complexity.
Computer vision-based path planning can play a crucial role in numerous technologically driven smart applications. Although various path planning methods have been proposed, limitations, such as unreliable three-dimensional (3D) localization of objects in a workspace, time-consuming computational processes, and limited two-dimensional workspaces, remain. Studies to address these problems have achieved some success, but many of these problems persist. Therefore, in this study, which is an extensi
ABSTRACT Coccinia grandis (L.) Voigt ( C. grandis ), a member of the Cucurbitaceae family, is recognized for its phytochemicals that possess antioxidant and antidiabetic properties, along with a wide array of nutritional and health‐promoting benefits. However, a comprehensive investigation of the phytochemical profiles and biologically active constituents in different parts of C. grandis has not yet been reported. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the phytochemical constituents of three di
Silicon nanowire has attracted considerable attention in thermoelectric devices because the diameter reduction can reduce thermal conductivity with boundary scattering, improving the figure of merit. Nevertheless, there are some challenges in device fabrication due to the relatively low efficiency and the difficulties in mass production. Here, we suggest the silicon nanowire with a corrugated surface to overcome these drawbacks by using a deep reactive-ion etcher. Corrugated silicon nanowires ca
Onion (Allium cepa L.) is a vegetable widely used in the culinary world. It is also remarkable as a source of nutrition and bioactive compounds. Onion leaves, which are inevitable byproducts of onion production, are morphologically similar to green onion leaves with similar taste profiles. Although they have potential as new sources of food, they are largely considered waste products. This study was conducted to investigate phytochemical compositions, quantities of phytochemicals, and antioxidan
This study investigated the cognitive development of elementary school children by identifying significant factors within a social-ecological framework. By studying the association between social-ecological factors and children's cognitive development, we identified the most significant factors that are linked to children's cognitive outcomes. We used the 5th wave (9 years old) of the U.S. Fragile Family and Child Wellbeing Study. With a sample size of 1,722, we conducted multiple regression ana
The purpose of this study is to develop a BIM-based plug-in that is able to assist a collaboration among heterogeneous professionals. The tool will enable them to communicate in the same language, articulate criteria and priorities in multiple perspectives, and to share rapidly simulated evaluations of schematic design variations. Among many barriers that block collaborations among professionals, a quintessential barrier in the building and design industries may be epistemological rather than ph

Coccinia grandis (C. grandis) is a perennial plant belonging to the Cucurbitaceae family. It is primarily native to Southeast Asia but has recently been cultivated domestically in Korea due to climate change. In this study, immature fruits of C. grandis, which are rich in bioactive substances, were processed into acidified pickles and stored for 15–55 days to investigate changes in their phytochemicals. The individual components of the phytochemicals in C. grandis were identified using an ultra-
This paper presents the principle design of tensegami structure to provide an agricultural area on Mars. As the research about Mars exploration and habitation has become popular, several trials have been conducted to build habitats or agricultural space on Mars. However, transporting construction machines and materials from Earth to Mars is limited because of the spaceship's limited space. Moving materials needed to construct architectural structures from Mars to Earth requires lots of space and
ABSTRACT Apium graveolens var. rapaceum (celeriac ), a root vegetable cultivated as a medicinal plant since ancient times, has gained attention due to its nutritional and health benefits. The aerial parts of celeriac (APC) are rich in compounds such as apigenin, known for its potent anti‐inflammatory properties. However, APC is often discarded due to its tough texture and bitter taste. To assess the health benefits and explore the potential of both the APC and underground parts of celeriac (UPC)
We designed a new large-scale 3D printing system using a tetrahedral tensegrity robot with six struts connected with the cable. Three struts that form a bottom triangle are carbon pipes, and the other three diagonal struts are made of a linear actuator. As we adjust each actuator’s length, we can control the position of the convergence point created by these linear actuators, which move in parallel with the extruder. To figure out the validity of our printing system, we simulated the extruder’s
