고정민 교수의 연구실은 선천성 기형, 특히 두개부좌열병, 선천성 심장병, 성 발달 이상 등 유전적 원인에 기인한 희귀질환의 분자 기전을 규명하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 유전자 변이, 복수의 염색체 이상, 그리고 성호르몬 관련 유전자(예: KISS1, GPR54, SRD5A2)의 기능적 영향을 분석하며, 임상적 유전체 분석 기술(예: 아레이 CGH)을 활용한 진단 및 정밀의료에 기여하고 있습니다. 한국인 집단을 대상으로 한 유전적 연구를 통해 희귀질환의 유전적 기반을 규명하고 있습니다.

Genetic Syndromes Associated with Craniosynostosis

Craniosynostosis is defined as the premature fusion of one or more of the cranial sutures. It leads not only to secondary distortion of skull shape but to various complications including neurologic, ophthalmic and respiratory dysfunction.
