15Gemcitabine has been considered a first-line chemotherapy agent for the treatment of pancreatic cancer. However, the initial response rate of gemcitabine is low and chemoresistance occurs frequently. Aptamers can be effectively internalized into cancer cells via binding to target molecules with high affinity and specificity. In the current study, we constructed an aptamer-based gemcitabine delivery system, APTA-12, and assessed its therapeutic effects on pancreatic cancer cells in vitro and in v
CCR3, the receptor for CCL11, is expressed on the surface of immune cells and even on non-immune cells. CCL11-CCR3 interactions can promote cell migration and proliferation. In this study, we investigated the effect of CCL11 on angiogenesis in HUVECs and also examined the molecular mechanisms of this process. We found that CCL11 induced mRNA transcription and protein expression of CCR3 in HUVECs. Moreover, the scratch wound healing assay and MTS proliferation assay both demonstrated that CCL11 p
-glycolic acid)-based microscale discoidal polymeric particles (Cur-PLGA-DPPs) and evaluate their anti-asthmatic properties using a murine asthma model. Cur-PLGA-DPPs were prepared using a top-down fabrication method. The prepared Cur-PLGA-DPPs had a mean particle size of 2.5 ± 0.4 μm and a zeta potential value of -34.6 ± 4.8 mV. Ex vivo biodistribution results showed that the Cur-PLGA-DPPs mainly accumulated in the lungs and liver after intravenous injection. Treatment with Cur-PLGA-DPPs effect
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common malignancy of the liver, which can progress rapidly and has a poor prognosis. Glypican-3 (GPC3) has been proposed to be an important diagnostic biomarker and therapeutic target for HCC. Aptamers have emerged as promising drug delivery vehicles because of their high binding affinity for target molecules. Herein, we developed G12msi, a gemcitabine-incorporated DNA aptamer, targeting GPC3, and evaluated its binding specificity and anti-tumor efficac
Abstract CROP reactivity of organic coatings composed of three structurally different monomers with epoxy or oxetane derivatives was investigated, focusing on rheological and surface mechanical properties. Real‐time crosslinking behavior of CROP monomers was monitored using a rotational rheometer. Results of differential scanning calorimetry with in situ UV irradiation revealed that the ring opening reactivity of CROP monomers protonated by a photoacid generator (PAG) was correlated with the hea
Abstract Aptamers are synthetic single-stranded DNA or RNA that can be held together with complementary sequences by base-pairing. Tenascin-C is an extracellular matrix protein that is overexpressed in cancer tissues. Herein, we investigate the biological characteristics of Tenascin-C aptamer as potential tumor imaging agents. Cy5 or F-18 labeled Tenascin-C aptamers were prepared through hybridization-based labeling method using complementary oligonucleotide platform. Immunoblot analysis was per
EGFRvIII is expressed only in tumor cells and strongly in glioblastoma and is considered a promising target in cancer diagnosis and therapy. Aptamers are synthetic single-stranded oligonucleotides that bind to biochemical target molecules with high binding affinity and specificity. This study examined the potential of the 68Ga-NOTA-EGFRvIII aptamer as a nuclear imaging probe for visualizing EGFRvIII-expressing glioblastoma by positron emission tomography (PET). EGFRvIII aptamer was selected usin
Aptamers have great potential for diagnostics and therapeutics due to high specificity to target molecules. However, studies have shown that aptamers are rapidly distributed and excreted from blood circulation due to nuclease degradation. To overcome this issue and to improve in vivo pharmacokinetic properties, inverted deoxythymidine (idT) incorporation at the end of aptamer has been developed. The goal of this study was to evaluate the biological characterization of 3'-idT modified ErbB2 aptam
Purpose: We sought to compare the radiographic parameters concerning the sagittal alignment of the standing whole-body skel etons between the knee extension group and control group using the low-dose biplanar X-ray system in a young adult population without knee pain, and to investigate the associated variables for the sagittal knee angle (sagKA) among the radiographic param eters of global sagittal alignment. Materials and Methods: We reviewed whole-body standing sagittal radiographs of 124 you
Inflammasomes are protein platforms consisting of multiple proteins. The biological function includes the activation of caspase-1, leading to the maturation of IL-1β and IL-18. These pro-inflammatory cytokines promote fundamental inflammatory processes in numerous infectious diseases. The inflammasome-mediated inflammation has become increasingly important in central nervous system disorders. In neurodegenerative disorders, significant contributors to disease progression include neuroinflammatio
