연구실 소개

이기용 교수의 연구실은 천연물에서 유래한 생활화학물질의 신경보호 작용과 암세포 전이 억제 기전을 중심으로 한 신약 개발 연구를 수행하고 있습니다. 특히, 활성산소 손상과 신경퇴행성 질환, 뇌경색, 피부암 등에 영향을 미치는 천연물 성분의 약리적 기전을 분자생물학적 및 세포배양 모델을 통해 규명하고 있습니다. 최근에는 라벤더, 석류, 레모니 등 식물에서 추출한 항산화 및 항염증 성분의 기능성 물질 규명에도 주력하고 있습니다.

A methanolic extract of Agrimonia eupatoria (Rosaceae) significantly attenuated glutamate-induced oxidative stress in HT22 hippocampal cells. A new flavonoid, characterized as kaempferol 3-O-beta-D-(2''-O-acetyl-6''-(E)-p-coumaroyl)-glucopyranoside (2''-acetyl-tiliroside (1), was isolated from the methanolic extract of A. eupatoria stems together with nine known flavonoids. Compounds 4, 7, 8 and 9 all showed a neuroprotective effect on glutamate-induced toxicity in HT22 cells.

Neuroprotective Bibenzyl Glycosides of Stemona tuberosa Roots

Three new bibenzyl glycosides characterized as stilbostemin B 3'-beta-D-glucopyranoside (1), stilbostemin H 3'-beta-D-glucopyranoside (2), and stilbostemin I 2"-beta-D-glucopyranoside (3) were isolated from the roots of Stemona tuberosa. All three bibenzyl glycosides significantly protected human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells from 6-hydroxydopamine-induced neurotoxicity.
