박규형 교수의 연구실은 망막 질환, 특히 노화 관련 황반변성과 망막 pigment 상피세포의 산화 스트레스 반응에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 산화적 손상이 유발하는 세포 사멸을 억제하는 분자 기전, 예를 들어 클러스터린과 PI3K/Akt 경로의 기능을 규명하는 데 주력하고 있으며, 이는 신약 타겟 발굴과 치료 전략 개발에 기여합니다. 또한 미세수술, 특히 23게이지 비틀림 수술 후 합병증과 얼굴 필러 주입으로 인한 혈관 폐색과 같은 임상적 합병증의 기전과 예후에 대해서도 심층적인 연구를 수행하고 있습니다.

The development of secondary MHs after vitrectomy is rare. Pathogenic mechanisms other than idiopathic MH may be involved in these cases.
