15PURPOSE: Estrogen receptor (ER) expression in breast cancer plays an essential role in carcinogenesis and disease progression. Recently, tumors with low level (1%-10%) of ER expression have been separately defined as ER low positive (ERlow). It is suggested that ERlow tumors might be morphologically and behaviorally different from tumors with high ER expression (ERhigh). MATERIALS AND METHODS: Retrospective analysis of a prospective cohort database was performed. Patients who underwent curative
While BRCA1/2 mutation carriers had a higher risk of developing CBC compared to non-carriers at high-risk of HBOC, the risk of IBTR was similarly high across breast cancer patients irrespective of the BRCA mutation. Further preventive strategies to reduce CBC and IBTR for all patients at high-risk of HBOC should be investigated.
Background Nipple-sparing mastectomy (NSM) followed by immediate breast reconstruction (IBR) is the optimal surgical treatment for breast cancer. However, investigations are ongoing to improve the surgical technique to achieve better results. This study aimed to evaluate the outcomes of modified NSM (m-NSM), which preserves the anterior lamellar fat layer, in patients who underwent IBR. Methods All patients who underwent modified NSM (m-NSM) or conventional NSM (c-NSM) followed by IBR using auto
The findings suggest that plasma proteome profiling can reveal potential diagnostic biomarkers for breast cancer and may contribute to early detection and personalized treatment strategies. A further validation study with a larger sample cohort of breast cancer patients is planned.

We aimed to predict axillary pathologic complete response (pCR) in patients with clinical N2-3 breast cancer who underwent neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) followed by breast and axillary surgeries. These patients were retrospectively analyzed between 2016 and 2020. Imaging metrics (lesion size and reduction ratios measured using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and ultrasonography (US)) and clinical and pathological factors were analyzed. Axillary pCR was achieved in 49.3% (n = 136/276) of the pa
= .58). Conclusion Preoperative MRI was associated with reduced risk of ipsilateral breast cancer recurrence in patients 50 years or younger, with the greatest benefit in those with hormone receptor-negative cancers. © RSNA, 2025
Purpose: Although the breast cancer susceptibility gene (BRCA)-associated invasive breast cancer is well studied, there are limited reports on ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) in patients with BRCA1/2 mutations. This study aims to evaluate the differential prognostic effect of DCIS in breast cancer patients with pathologic variants of BRCA1/2 genes. Methods: Breast cancer patients who tested positive for BRCA1/2 mutations between August 2003 and January 2022 at a single tertiary referral center wer
Abstract Abstract Background: Although Breast Cancer Susceptibility Gene (BRCA)-associated invasive breast cancer has been extensively studied, there are few reports on ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) in patients with BRCA1/2 mutations. This study aims to evaluate the prognostic effect of DCIS in breast cancer patients with pathologic variants of BRCA1/2 genes. Methods: Retrospective analysis was performed on a prospective cohort of 157 patients who were found positive for BRCA1/2 mutations thro
