연구실 소개

오경환 교수의 연구실은 광학 소자 및 센서 기반의 혁신적 기술 개발을 핵심으로 하며, 허브 옵티컬 파이버, 펌프된 레이저, 페로브스카이트 기반 비선형 광학 소자, 생체세포의 광학적 트랩, 그리고 생체 유사 온도 센서 등 다각도의 응용을 연구하고 있습니다. 특히 고성능 광학 센서, 펌프 없는 2μm 레이저, 펌프리 펄스 생성 장치 등에서의 응용 기술 개발에 주력하고 있으며, 모든 과정이 광섬유 기반으로 통합된 미세광학 시스템 설계에 특화되어 있습니다. 연구는 실용적 응용에 초점을 맞춘 기초-응용 연계형 기술 혁신을 추구합니다.

Continuous-wave oscillation of thulium-sensitized holmium-doped silica fiber laser

We have observed oscillation in a Tm(3+) and Ho(3+) codoped silica fiber from the (5)I(7) ? (5)I(8) transition of Ho(3+) in the 2-microm region, by pumping the fiber laser into a Tm(3+) absorption between 800 and 830 nm. By a change in the cavity length, the laser was tunable between 2.037 and 2.096 microm. We report unique thermo-optical characteristics of DNA-Cetyl tri-methyl ammonium (DNA-CTMA) thin solid film with a large negative thermo-optical coefficient of -3.4×10<sup>-4</sup>/°C in the temperature range from 20°C to 70°C without any observable thermal hysteresis. Broadband superfluorescent emission of the ^3H_4 → ^3H_6 transition in a Tm-doped multicomponent silicate fiber

We report the observation of amplified spontaneous emission in the (3)H(4) ? (3)H(6) transition of Tm(+3) in a Ta(2)O(5)-doped multicomponent silicate fiber. The evolutions of the spectral shape, output power, and center wavelength were measured as a function of fiber length and pump power in the previously unstudied high-power range, where saturation effects dominate. An output power of 1 mW has been achieved at 1.91 microm with a bandwidth of 77 nm.
