연구실 소개

이장희 교수의 연구실은 뼈 대사 및 골다골증, 관절염 등 골병변과 관련된 세밀한 분자 기전을 규명하고자 하며, 특히 RANKL/OPG 경로, HDAC 억제제, 세포 사멸 조절, 그리고 혈액 응고 단백질의 뼈 대사 조절 기능에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 골다공로시스와 류머티스 관절염 등에서 골절손실을 유도하는 오스테오클라스트의 활성화 메커니즘과 그 억제 전략을 중심으로 기초 및 번역 연구를 수행하고 있습니다. 최근에는 항염증 단백질인 헤파티오글로빈과 4-1BB 등 면역 조절 수용체의 뼈 대사에 대한 영향을 규명하며 뼈-면역 상호작용의 새로운 이해를 모색하고 있습니다.

Histone deacetylases (HDACs) deacetylate both histones and nonhistone proteins and play a key role in the regulation of physiologic and aberrant gene expression. Inhibition of HDACs has emerged as a promising therapeutic target for cancer and neurologic diseases.
