연구실 소개

김만호 교수의 연구실은 신경퇴행성 질환, 특히 알츠하이머병과 헌팅턴병의 발병 기전과 치료 전략을 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 신경생존인자(BDNF) 조절에 관여하는 미세소RNA(miR-206)와 간질세포 유래 배양세포(ASC)의 신경보호 작용, 그리고 식물 유래 외소포(Exosomes)와 생체재료의 병변 치유 기전을 탐구하며, 신경세포 기반의 새로운 치료 전략 개발에 주력하고 있습니다. 특히, 줄기세포 유래 분비인자와 외소포를 활용한 비침습적 치료법의 임상적 응용 가능성을 높이기 위한 기초 연구를 지속하고 있습니다.

OBJECTIVE: Alzheimer disease (AD) brains are deficient in brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), which regulates synaptic plasticity and memory. Neurovascular degeneration contributes to the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Because erythropoietin (EPO) promotes endothelial regeneration, we investigated the therapeutic effects of EPO in animal models of AD.
