연구실 소개

윤미진 교수의 연구실은 암 대사 및 신경퇴행성 질환의 분자 영상 기반 진단을 핵심으로 하며, 특히 18F-FDG PET를 활용한 암 병소의 정밀 분류와 간암, 위암 등 특정 종양에서의 대사 특성 분석을 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 또한 알츠하이머병과 같은 뇌질환에서 활성화된 별상세세포의 대사 변화를 11C-아세트산 및 FDG PET로 기능적으로 시각화하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있으며, 이는 신경염증 및 신경대사 이상의 비침습적 모니터링에 기여하고자 합니다. 연구는 영상학적 기법과 분자생물학, 대사체 분석을 융합하여 종양 및 뇌질환의 병태생리 기전을 밝히는 데 기여하고 있습니다.

UNLABELLED: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the ability of (18)F-FDG PET to characterize adrenal lesions in patients with proven or suspected cancers. METHODS: A retrospective analysis was performed on 50 adrenal lesions in 41 patients, whose PET scans were done to evaluate the primary or metastatic disease. Vascular FDG uptake is present in 50% of the patients examined for this study, with an increased prevalence in older patients. This vascular uptake might be explained by smooth muscle metabolism in the media, subendothelial smooth muscle proliferation from senescence, and the presence of macrophages within the atherosclerotic plaque. The relative contribution of these sources needs further investigation.
