15Abstract Finite element analysis of fluid flow with moving free surface has been performed in 2‐D and 3‐D. The new VOF‐based numerical algorithm that has been proposed by the present authors (Int. J. Numer. Meth. Fluids, submitted) was applied to several 2‐D and 3‐D free surface flow problems. The proposed free surface tracking scheme is based on two numerical tools; the orientation vector to represent the free surface orientation in each cell and the baby‐cell to determine the fluid volume flux
Deep learning-based molecular generative models have successfully identified drug candidates with desired properties against biological targets of interest. However, syntactically invalid molecules generated from a deep learning-generated model hinder the model from being applied to drug discovery. Herein, we propose a conditional variational autoencoder (CVAE) as a generative model to propose drug candidates with the desired property outside a data set range. We train the CVAE using molecular f
Not all members are engaged in job crafting behavior in the same context, yet little research has addressed boundary conditions of daily job crafting. This study addresses these important issues and how the effects of daily job crafting vary depending on the work situation. We consider job autonomy and leader support as between-person level moderators and reveal how it affects the impact of daily job crafting on daily job satisfaction. Through the experience of the sampling method, we collected
The present study assessed the effect of gender similarity as a potential moderator of the relationships between person–group (P–G) value fit and work attitudes. Specifically, we predicted that the effect of P–G value fit (in terms of social integration values) on individual attitudes would be stronger for individuals who had a similar gender than those of a different gender. Based on data obtained from 197 employees in South Korea, we found that when the focal individual had high gender similar
The gut microbiome shapes host health through a complex network driven by both host‒microbe and microbe‒microbe interactions. Disruption of these interactions, often referred to as dysbiosis, is associated with a range of infectious and chronic diseases. Owing to the success of fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) for the treatment of recurrent Clostridioides difficile infection, FMT has been explored as a therapeutic option for a range of microbiota-associated conditions, including inflammato
In the area of wireless sensor networks, the efficient spatial query processing based on the locations of sensor nodes is required. Especially, spatial queries on two sensor networks need a distributed spatial join processing among the sensor networks. Because the distributed spatial join processing causes lots of wireless transmissions in accessing sensor nodes of two sensor networks, our goal of this paper is to reduce the wireless transmissions for the energy efficiency of sensor nodes. In th
In this paper, we propose an EEG-based response time prediction method during a yes/no cognitive decision task. In the experimental task, a subject goes through responding of visual stimulus, understanding the given problem, controlling hand motions, and hitting a key. Considering the subject's varying brain activities, we model subjects' mental states with defining ST (selection time). EEG signals from four subjects were recorded while they performed three mental tasks. Feature vectors defined
Although researchers have argued that a leader's positive affective display effectively induces work motivation among members, it has not always resulted in desirable outcomes. This research addresses these critical issues and explains why individuals react differently, by considering the three-way interaction of the characteristics of expression, the positive affect of the members, and quality of leader-member exchange (LMX). To verify our hypotheses, 698days from 47 leaders and 146 members wer
The wireless electrocardiographic monitoring system(WDMS) is designed to be long term monitoring for the early detection of cardiac disorders. The current version of the WDMS can identify two types of cardiac rhythms in real-time, such as atrial fibrillation(AF) and normal sinus rhythm(NSR), which are very important to track cardiac-rhythm disorders. In this study, we proposed the analysis method to discriminate the characteristics statistically evaluated in both time and frequency domains betwe
