김명희 교수의 연구실은 주로 단백질 구조와 기능의 분자 기전을 해독하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 티오레도신과 TXNIP 간의 산화환원 조절 메커니즘, 장내 미생물이 면역 균형을 조절하는 비번역적 기능, 그리고 NDRG 및 TMR 단백질의 구조 기반 기능 해석을 통해 암 및 대사질환, 환경 오염물질 대사의 생물학적 기전을 밝혀내고 있습니다. 이는 기초 생물학적 메커니즘을 규명하고, 질병 치료 및 생태 복원 전략 개발에 기여하는 연구입니다.
