이남용 교수의 연구실은 감염병의 조기 진단과 치료를 위한 신속한 마이크로생물학적 진단 기술 개발에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히, 환자에서 병원성 박테리아와 항생제 내성 유전자를 신속하게 식별할 수 있는 분자진단법과 진단 테스트 기반의 치료 전략 개발이 핵심 연구 분야입니다. 또한, 파킨슨병 환자를 대상으로 한 가상현실 기반 운동치료의 효과 분석을 통해 신경기능 향상과 삶의 질 향상에 기여하고자 합니다.

To investigate the nasal carriage of antibiotic-resistant pneumococci by children, anterior nasal swabs were done for 4963 children <5 years old in 11 countries in Asia and the Middle East. BACKGROUND: The role of bacterial microbiota in the pathogenesis of nontuberculous mycobacterial pulmonary disease (NTM-PD) is unclear. We aimed to compare the bacterial microbiome of disease-invaded lesions and non-invaded lung tissue from NTM-PD patients. The QMAC-dRAST system provided rapid results and represents an alternative to conventional AST methods. The QMAC-dRAST with colony isolates produced more reliable results for staphylococci and enterococci than the QMAC-dRAST with PBCB. We investigated the evolution of fluconazole resistance mechanisms and clonal types of Candida parapsilosis isolates from a tertiary care hospital in South Korea.
