연구실 소개
박주영 교수의 연구실은 갑상선암의 분자적 기반과 진단·예후 생물학적 마커를 규명하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 BRAF, TERT 프로모터, RAS 등 핵심 유전자 변이가 갑상선암의 진행과 예후에 미치는 영향을 RNA 시퀀싱과 분자유전자 분석을 통해 탐구하고 있으며, 임상적 적용 가능성을 높이기 위한 바이오마커 기반 위험도 분류 체계 개발에 주력하고 있습니다. 또한 치료에 어려움을 겪는 병변, 예를 들어 뿌리면역세포 손상 등 치료에 도전적인 치과 조직 재생 문제에도 연구를 확장하고 있습니다.

BACKGROUND: Recent reports suggest that mutations in the promoter of the gene encoding telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) affect thyroid cancer outcomes. Coexistent BRAF<sup>V600E</sup> and TERT promoter mutations have a synergistic effect on clinical outcomes in PTC, whereas each mutation alone has a modest effect.
