연구실 소개

박원용 교수의 연구실은 환경 미생물학과 병원성 세균의 생태 및 생물학적 제어를 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 특히 활성스틀에서 분리된 질소고정 박테리아와 기름 오염 토양 내 균류의 역할을 규명하며 환경 정화 및 생물학적 농약 개발에 기여하고 있습니다. 또한, 농작물 병원균인 파쇄병과 베키나에 병의 생장 동역학을 분석하여 병해 방제 전략을 수립하고 있습니다. 이와 같은 연구는 환경 보존과 농업 지속 가능성을 동시에 고려한 실용적 접근을 담고 있습니다.

Two floc-forming, nitrogen-fixing bacteria, strains EMB43(T) and EMB61, obtained from activated sludge of a domestic wastewater treatment plant in Korea, were characterized. The two strains were very closely related, sharing 99.7 % 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity and showing a level of DNA-DNA relatedness of 93 %, which suggests that they represent members of a single species. A Gram-negative, strictly aerobic, non-spore-forming bacterium, designated strain BD-c194(T), was isolated from diesel-contaminated soil in Geoje, Korea. The cells were short, motile rods with single polar flagella. Growth of strain BD-c194(T) was observed between 15 and 45 degrees C (optimally at 30-35 degrees C) and between pH 6.0 and 9.5 (optimally at pH 7.5-9.0). Comparative Analysis of Disease Progression Patterns of Rice Bakanae Disease among Cultivars

This study investigated the temporal progression of bakanae disease in three susceptible rice cultivars: Odae, Junam, and Chucheong. Although higher initial seed infection rates increased final disease incidence, the dynamics of symptom development were distinctly cultivar-dependent. Chucheong was characterized by a high proportion of tiller death in the early stages, followed by an increase in latency.
