15Last-minute labeling: Mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) were modified with a very short half-life fluorine-18-labeled azide radiotracer by a cycloaddition reaction after the MSNs had reached the tumor site in mice. The tumor could then be visualized successfully with positron emission tomography.
We demonstrate a bendable plastic crystal polymer electrolyte (referred to as “B-PCPE”) for use in flexible lithium-ion batteries. The B-PCPE proposed herein is composed of a plastic crystal electrolyte (PCE, 1 M lithium bis-trifluoromethanesulphonimide (LiTFSI) in succinonitrile (SN)) and a UV (ultraviolet)-cured polymer network bearing long linear hydrocarbon chains (here, trimethylolpropane propoxylate triacrylate (TPPTA) polymer is exploited). The solid electrolyte characteristics of the B-P
Q2 was employed to turbulent flows over an open cavity to investigate the spatial characteristics of coherent structures responsible for self-sustained oscillations. The distributions of pressure fluctuations were analyzed by using snapshot-based proper orthogonal decomposition. When self-sustained oscillations took place for ReD 12;000 in the cavity geometry of L=D 2, three pairs of alternative patterns were shown in the first and second modes of pressure fluctuations. By examining both tempora
Purpose Reflecting on the importance of negative word-of-mouth (NWOM) executed by internal audience of brand management, this study aims to explore the mechanism of employees’ NWOM in the emotional exhaustion context. Design/methodology/approach Focusing on employees’ active brand-oriented deviances, this study used a surveyed data set ( n = 150) collected from negatively aroused employees experiencing a negative event within their organization. Structural equation modeling was adopted to test t
Crank–Nicolson scheme in native OpenFOAM source libraries was not able to provide 2nd order temporal accuracy of velocity and pressure since the volume flux of convective nonlinear terms was 1st accurate in time. In the present study the simplest way of getting the volume flux with 2nd order accuracy was proposed by using old fluxes. A possible numerical instability originated from an explicit estimation of volume fluxes could be handled by introducing a weighting factor which was determined by
Numerical simulations of turbulent flows around KCS have been performed to study the sensitivity of ship resistance to wall-adjacent grids and disclose the influence of near-wall treatment on the sensitivity of ship resistance. The resistance coefficients of viscous and pressure forces were compared when using realizable k-ε and SST k-ω turbulence models in structured and unstructured grids, respectively. The calculation of friction velocity was found to be mainly responsible for the reduction o
Purpose With the emergence of a variety of communication channels on social media, employees have more opportunities to engage with external stakeholders for or against their organizational brand. In such a context, focusing on negative word-of-mouth (NWOM) as an employee’s negative discretionary brand-oriented behavior, the current study aimed to identify negative emotions that can serve as drivers for NWOM more strongly than for counterproductive workplace behavior (CWB), relying on the discre
Direct numerical and large eddy simulations of incompressible turbulent flows over deep and shallow cavities were performed in the range of 600 ReD 12; 000 to investigate the influence of the incoming turbulent boundary layer on self-sustained oscillations of the shear layer. When the turbulent boundary layer approached the open cavity with ReD 3000, the energy spectra of the pressure fluctuations showed spectral peaks in the range of 0:15! 0:3. Conditionally averaged flowfields disclosed that t
A wide scope of numerical simulations was performed to predict model-ship resistances by using STAR-CCM+ and OpenFOAM. The numerical results were compared with experimental measurements in towing tank to analyze statistical reliability of the present simulations. Based on the normal distribution of resistance errors in 113 cases of container carriers, tankers and very large crude-oil carriers, the confidence intervals of numerical error were estimated as [-2.64%,+2.32%] and [-1.82%, +1.87%] with
This study concerns the characteristics of the partially averaged Navier–Stokes method for local flow analysis around a rotating propeller. Partially averaged Navier–Stokes, resolving crucial large-scale structures of turbulent flow at a given computational grid resolution, is a bridging turbulence closure model between the Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes equation and the direct numerical simulation. A detailed comparison between partially averaged Navier–Stokes and Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stok
