이상준 교수의 연구실은 바이러스 감염과 암 발생에서 핵심적인 역할을 하는 세포사 조절 메커니즘을 규명하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 Z-DNA 결합 단백질 1(ZBP1)과 RNA 에이드라제 1(ADAR1) 간의 상호작용을 통해 염증성 세포사(PANoptosis)를 조절하는 신호전달 경로를 밝혀내며, 이는 감염성 질환과 암 치료 전략 개발에 기여하고자 합니다. 또한, 면역세포가 암세포를 제거하는 데 핵심적인 사이토카인의 기능과 기전을 규명하여 면역요법의 효과를 높이는 데 기여하고 있습니다.

These pathogen- and damage-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs and DAMPs, respectively), resulting in the induction of inflammatory cell death, are detected by specific innate immune sensors.
