한서경 교수의 연구실은 임상시험 설계 및 분석, 특히 군집 무작위 대조 시험(Cluster Randomized Trials)의 방법론적 문제와 편향 요인을 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 비효율적 또는 비윤리적인 무작위화 방식으로 인한 결과 왜곡을 분석하고, 비임상적 연구에서의 선택적 보고 문제, 비열등성 시험(noninferiority trials)의 설계 및 해석 어려움에 대해서도 깊이 있는 연구를 수행하고 있습니다. 특히 메타분석에서의 이질성 분석과 하위군 분석의 편향 문제에 대한 실증적 접근이 두드러집니다.

Noninferiority trials test whether a new experimental treatment is not unacceptably less efficacious than an active control treatment already in use. With continuous improvements in health technologies, standard care, and clinical outcomes, the incremental benefits of newly developed treatments may be only marginal over existing treatments.
