연구실 소개

서승우 교수의 연구실은 척추 기형과 척추측만성의 기전 및 영상학적 특성에 중점을 두고 있으며, 특히 선천성 척추기형에서의 척수 내 이상소견(예: 고정된 척수, 수액성 척수병)의 유병률과 관련된 MRI 영상 분석을 핵심으로 합니다. 또한 성장기 척추에서 압력 변화가 척추체와 디스크의 기형적 왜곡을 유도하는 메커니즘(후터-볼크만 법칙의 적용)에 대한 생체역학적 연구도 진행하고 있습니다. 최근에는 요추신경근의 해부학적 위치와 디스크, 경막낭에 대한 상대적 위치관계를 정밀하게 규명함으로써 척추외과 수술 접근법의 정확성을 높이는 데 기여하고 있습니다.

The incidence of intraspinal abnormalities associated with congenital spinal anomalies as detected by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is becoming better defined. In this study, 41 nonrandomized children with congenital spinal deformities (excluding myelomeningocele) who underwent complete MR evaluation were reviewed. Previous studies on the anatomy of the lumbar spine have not clarified the precise relationship of the origin of the lumbar roots to their corresponding discs or their angulation to the dural sac. We studied 33 cadavers (25 formalin-preserved and eight fresh-frozen) and their radiographs to determine these details.
