연구실 소개
정승용 교수의 연구실은 직장암의 치료 전략 최적화를 목표로 하며, 특히 보존 치료와 수술 시기 결정, 조직학적 예후 요인 분석에 중점을 두고 있습니다. 환자별 맞춤형 치료를 위한 분자생물학적 기반의 생체은행 구축과 다중 부위 샘플링을 통한 종양 내 이질성 연구를 통해 약물 내성 메커니즘을 규명하고 있습니다. 또한, 흡연 등 생활습관 요인이 수술 합병증에 미치는 영향과 같은 임상적 요인의 기전을 분석함으로써 종양의 전반적 예후를 향상시키는 데 기여하고 있습니다.

15The present findings suggest that compared with a 4 to 6 week interval, delaying surgery for 6 to 8 weeks after completion of fractionated radiotherapy with concurrent chemotherapy does not improve CRT response or the sphincter-preservation rate, and does not decrease morbidity or local recurrence.
Approximately 16 percent of patients with submucosally invasive colorectal carcinoma and risk factors benefited from subsequent surgery. Depth of mesorectal extension >5 mm is a significant prognostic factor in patients with T3 rectal cancer. Depth of mesorectal extension especially may be more important than the nodal status in predicting the oncologic outcome for patients who had received preoperative chemoradiotherapy.
